Barack Obama’s Iowa Caucus Victory Speech
On this day, 3 January 2008, President Barack Obama delivered his stirring Iowa Caucus victory speech. When Obama won the Iowa Caucuses, it was a first indicator that he would win the elections, and become the first African American president of the United States of America. In the caucuses Obama won the vote of the majority of the black and white populations; the Democrats, Republicans, Independents; and the youth, establishing himself as the strongest presidential candidate of the race.
Barack Obama went on to serve two full terms as the 44th president of the United States, from 20 January 2009 to 20 January 2017. As one of – if not the most – influential president of the United States, the President signed many landmark bills into law like the “Obamacare” and, along with his wife Michelle Obama (the most educated educated first lady in the USA), continues to inspire and motivate people, especially the youth, to be apart of the change they want to see.
