Today, 23 February 2023, is Mashramani in Guyana. Mashramani, or Mash is a public holiday in the country of Guyana. Mashramani is celebrated every year on the same date: 23 February.
Mashramani, which falls on Republic Day in Guyana is a festival commemorating the nation’s birth into a Republic on 23 February 1970. During the festivities all guyanese people join in music, dance and all sorts of fun activities. On Mashramani costume competitions and float parades take place while masquerade bands and dancers flood many streets of the country.
Mashramani is a wonderful holiday celebrating Guyana and its people.
